Tuesday

Pie

Yesterday I told you about my morning with all the things combining science and culture. This New Zealand based newspaper called Pie is just perfect if you ask me.

Monday

If we had a Tube going through Milky way

I've spent this morning just finding great new things on the web (and I have a lot to show you). Arts, science and culture combined! This "Milky Way Transit Authority" map is a work by Samuel Arbesman, a computational sociologist at Harvard.  Just brilliant.

Found via collision detection.

Sunday

Stones

Lately I've been really into different kinds of jewels. I saw this wonderful poster the other day and I love the colours and geometry of the stones. And then I saw these rings by Billy Bride (found via all the mountains) which are absolutely stunning.

Friday

Wooden stools

I found these via Design Squish Blog (which is my new favourite!). Recycled wooden stools by Edwards Moore are wonderful!

Thursday

The moose

I got this moose hanger from a flea market a few years ago. I think I will never let it go.

Wednesday

Matchboxes

There is just something about these old matchboxes that I found via It's nice that. More great designs here.

Monday

Weekend with my sister

We went to different places like TR1. And saw a halo. It was great fun.

Saturday

Light week property

The night time is quite beautiful here. Check it out.

Friday

Headstones

Maybe this is a bit sad subject but I like the idea of these luohkka headstones by Johan Kauppi of We Think. So simple and stylish.

Thursday

The space as it is

I got this great painting illustrating space from my friend. He made it almost 20 years ago and gave it to me recently. I think he had a great knowledge of space at the time. There might be tomatoes floating somewhere over there.

Wednesday

Origami

My brother is the origami master. He made me these (and a lot more).

Tuesday

Colour your day

Jenni Rope's tapework from 2007. Something to cheer up the greyness of the days.

Monday

Starmapping

Astronomy is one of the things that I really love and lately I have had a huge crush on different kinds of starmaps (so good graphic design!). I'm going to make something cool inspired by these pictures. You will see it later...

Saturday

Ghost lights

The other night there were spooky lights and fog everywhere.

Friday

Magazine cases go 90's

I found these magazine cases (that my mother has bought from Stockholm's IKEA in the early 90's) and I love love love the prints.

Thursday

From Tate Modern

Bridget Riley -- Nataraja -- 1993 -- Oil on canvas / I once got this postcard that I found the other day.

Wednesday

Information is beautiful

A blog, a book and now I found a great 21 minutes of David McCandless (I totally recommend watching TED). Enjoy.

Tuesday

Floating garden

I want this one too. Ukiyo-e, a floating garden designed by Florent Coirier, Grégory Marion and Laurianne Lopez for Vertilignes.

Found via Mocoloco

Monday

Wandering

Today I found some interesting and cool stuff: a little movie theater that plays only indie movies, streets that I haven't seen before, a candle holder from the 50's, a sailor shirt by Marimekko and new winter boots that look like cowboy boots. I'm in love with this city.

Sunday

How to be an explorer of the world

I love this book that I got from London. I'm going to follow the instructions below as I research my world.

Saturday

Friday

Going back to 80's Thailand

When it's grey and cold outside I like to watch this photo from our family holiday back in the 80's.

Thursday

Light my fire

This lighting of Naistenlahti power plant (Tampere, Finland) blew my mind when I first saw it. It is designed by Valoa Design who have also designed some other beautiful lightings especially at Tampere.

Tuesday

Prints in my bed

Maybe some colourful dreams. Pillowcase from Marimekko and duvet cover from Finlayson.
