Folk Jee

Long time, no see! I think I've been busy with everything. With life, I mean because so much has happened. But I came to tell you that I have a new blog project: Folk Jee. It's more like an online magazine, written in English AND in Finnish, where I gather things and interesting stuff from the kingdom on plants. So lots of green nature and garden things and also some traditional handcrafts in folklore kinda way. And then living slow and happy. That's what its all about.

I guess that means that this blog has come to an end. It's a bit sad but at the same time I'm so excited about my new baby, Folk Jee. I'm so happy to get into blogging again and I cannot wait to see you guys in my new blog too. So thank you /KNOW / FEEL, you were the best first love.

Flora & Laura

I just surfed into the coolest flower shop ever: Flora & Laura! A flower shop that doesn't really exist but that makes beautiful flowers stylings. This ticks all the boxes in my florist-graphic designer-gardener heart.

Landet Järna

I just found the most perfect flower shop I've ever seen! Landet Järna in Sweden is specialized in wild flowers and it follows the seasons with their collection of flowers. It also uses the locally grown flowers. I've been wanting something like this in Finland too. Maybe someday. Or maybe I should move to Sweden...

Colouring

Lately I've been doing things with different colours. First I made the most delicious ginger-apple jam and let my inner kitchen goddess out. Then I received the much-needed package of hair colours from B. And then we went to a natural dyes workshop with Z. That was so much fun and so inspirational and relaxing! So much joy from the avocado shells, the creeping woodsorrels and anything else from the nature (and garbage).

Hypnopompic

These textile designs by Kustaa Saksi are just amazing! His exhibition Hypnopompic is now at Korjaamo and it looks very interesting.

Lilacs

I bought myself a huge bouquet of my favorite flowers: lilacs! These remind me of my childhood home where lilacs grow just when you go outside of the door. The fragrance is to die for.

The Flower Recipe Book

I love this new book by Alethea Harampolis and Jill Rizzo (who are Studio Choo): The Flower Recipe Book! The idea of a cook book with different recipes but the recipes are for flower arrangements. And the book looks so beautiful that I'm totally charmed.

Terrain

I love everything in Terrain! This doesn't do any good for my fever to get outside and build my own garden somewhere.

Wilder Quarterly

I'm addicted to Wilder Quarterly. I found this publication while surfing on the Internet and it just screamed my name. Here's how they describe themselves:

The Grow Bottle

How great idea is this! Recycling wine bottles to make little hydrogardens and Grow Bottles look amazing too. I wish I had a glass saw. All my wine bottles would be little gardens.

Wreaths and flowers

The thing that I really love about Christmas is the wreaths, twigs, flowers, Christmas tree and all the nature stuff. The walk in the forest to pick up all the branches that you need, then going inside to get warm again and spending hours just to make your own wreath, drinking warm mulled wine.

Secret life of plants

Sorry for the silence, I have been having an annoyingly long and infuriating flu that just won't go away. So my life has only been laying on my bed, watching movies and doing nothing. I actually haven't even been that much on the internet either and that is a sign that I'm terribly sick. But here's some amazing photos taken of the plants that surround us. Just look how stunning the microscopic world is!
