Colouring

Lately I've been doing things with different colours. First I made the most delicious ginger-apple jam and let my inner kitchen goddess out. Then I received the much-needed package of hair colours from B. And then we went to a natural dyes workshop with Z. That was so much fun and so inspirational and relaxing! So much joy from the avocado shells, the creeping woodsorrels and anything else from the nature (and garbage).

Rainbow shirt

A while ago I promised that I would share the pattern for this rainbow shirt with you. This is one of  the most reblogged things on my blog and so many has asked me where I got that shirt, where's the fabric from or where they would get the pattern. The thing has been that I sew the shirt myself, the fabric was a sale found from the local fabric store and I didn't have any pattern when I made it.

But now I've made a pattern for you! It's simple but so is this shirt. I think anyone can do this!

Just get your favorite fabric and then it just needs few little stitches. And yes, this is a one-size model, but you can also make it smaller or larger. It's up to you. The measurements are from the shirt that I made.

1. Cut the front and the back pieces. You can see the sleeve holes marked on the pattern.

2. First sew the shoulder seams and the side seams together  (front and back pieces). Remember to leave the sleeve holes open. Now you actually have the shirt roughly done!

3. If you want to make look more finished, hem the sleeve holes, neckline and the bottom.

Natural Easter

I just booked a course for me and my man: natural dyeing with plants. I'm so excited, I've always wanted to try that and the best thing is that when I talked about this course I saw on a local school's website, Z also got interested and now we're going together! I think we will be collecting different plants the whole summer (if we're not longboarding).

And as the Easter is here soon, maybe I could try natural dyes for the Easter eggs too. I remember my mom doing that when I was a kid. Beware hippies, here we come!

Open your eyes

I love sleeping. It's one the best things I know. And while you're at it, why not sleep on the most beautiful mattress I've ever seen! The coolest thing is that this Open Your Eeys Bedding mattress is all-natural and diy. 100 % cotton canvas tubes are filled with buckwheat hulls and then twisted to this beauty. I dream of sleeping on this.

New home things

Z made me plywood boxes that can be piled up into shelves, so perfect for my little home! I love love love them and now we can build a studio for our little photography project. Hell yeah! (And then we made a camera obscura out of my room.)

Masked

When I was in primary school we made these cool plaster masks and painted them. I remembered that project recently and now I want to do some plaster masks again. Maybe a wall full of weird and magical plaster faces!!

I always want to do something a bit different for my friends for Christmas. Something that I make myself and that's not so typical Christmas card or present. Now it's the time to get inspired by something and all the DIY things from Mini eco are so great!

Hanging succulent garden

I would love to hang plants in my apartment but I think I'm not allowed to do that. But I can dream about this succulent garden and do these macrames for my plants in advance.

Barbie shoes necklace

When I was a little girl, I used to love all the accessories that my Barbie-doll had. Like her shoes. All the little high heels and sneakers. I think that's why I feel drawn to this necklace. My Barbie never had this much of shoes but this would be a great DIY thing if you can collect all those little shoes.
